Nicola Rogerson founded Coats five years ago from her workshop in South London. The company has now moved into a large studio in West Sussex, where she has a team working alongside her to create new techniques in both decorative paint, and Italian Plaster finishes. They work alongside Interior Designers, as well as directly with clients to create an individual look and style. They have worked with many London based retailers in the decorative furniture world, and developed an individual style for a concession inside Harrods. They have also carried out many projects working for designers of clients in commercial industries.

Nicola Rogerson trained at the Roger Newton School of Decorative Finishes in Battersea, London during 1997. This experience allowed her to gain a high level of attention to detail, in-depth knowledge and vast experience in this competitive discipline. With an acute eye for style and developing trends, she began working with Italian plaster finishes during this early period.

She worked alongside Ray Munn Ltd, the importers of Safra's plasters, giving her inside knowledge of the product, and an understanding of the material. Because of her experience she has been selected by Safra in Italy to work as head of the technical department for the use of Safra products in the UK.

Nicola worked in conjunction with Ray Munn Ltd on their design showroom in Mayfair, London, thus giving her direct access to this affluent central London district. The introduction enabled her to work in some magnificent homes, in the restoration and application of new decorative paint finishes.

Nicola passes on her love and passion for her work through teaching. She has worked as a visiting lecturer in colour theory at KLC in Chelsea and as a decorative paint lecturer at Richmond College. She has also opened a school of decorative paint finishes, teaching students technical and creative ways of painting furniture. With a distinct passion for Italian plasters, she treats English students to a range of courses at Safra's head office in Verona, Italy.
